I am a certified teacher with extensive experience working with students who have an IEP, or individualized education plan. Primarily, my work experience has been working on an individual basis with students who have not been able to attend school for a variety of reasons. I have held this position for various school districts. I continue to tutor on behalf of my local school district, as well as privately.I enjoy working with students who have been struggling with a particular subject, as well as those who are having difficulty catching up. I believe my tutoring successes come from my desire to help students excel. I am very patient and I use my own understanding of the subject to find new ways to make it more accessible for my students.Some of the specific courses I am available to tutor include algebra 1, reading, writing, literature, grammar and mechanics, English, arithmetic, business, management, marketing, international business, and middle school math. I also help students who need to prepare for a standardized test such as the SAT, ACT, or GED.During my free time, I enjoy the theater, attending live musical events, tennis, travel, exploring new foods, reading, politics, and swimming.
